Chryss Yost

Chryss Yost (Mouth & Fruit, 2014) is co-editor of Gunpowder Press. She served as Poet Laureate of Santa Barbara from 2013-15; Gunpowder was born during this time. In addition to producing Gunpowder books, she has been a key part of the Shoreline Voices Series. She was the long-time managing editor for the Journal of Haitian Studies. A native of San Diego, she has lived in Santa Barbara since 1990, where she has been a poetic collaborator and organizer for many years with her husband, poet George Yatchisin. She is a SCAD heart attack survivor.
