Lynne Thompson to serve as final judge for the 2021 Spacks Prize

The editors are honored that Lynne Thompson has agreed to serve as the final judge for the 2021 Spacks Prize. The Spacks Prize is awarded annually to a full-length manuscript of original poems. Previous judges include Dan Gerber, Thomas Lux, Jane Hirshfield, Lee Herrick, Stephen Dunn, and Jessica Jacobs. We are grateful for their generous support of poetry and the legacy of Barry Spacks. Manuscripts will be considered until April 30 and are accepted via Submittable.

Thompson is the author of Beg No Pardon, Start With A Small Guitar, and Fretwork selected by Jane Hirshfield for the Marsh Hawk Poetry Prize. Thompson’s recent work appears or is forthcoming in New England Review, Ninth Letter, december, Black Warrior Review, and 2020 Best American Poetry, among others. Thompson is Chair of the Board of Trustees at Scripps College and serves on the Boards of Cave Canem and the Los Angeles Review of Books. Read more about the Spacks Prize here.
